Welcome/welcome back to the blog! It feels so good to be back talking about Keep This Up again. I absolutely love this band, and they’re just so lovely. I will also state that I was kindly sent a merch parcel from the band, but that does do influence my opinion on the EP. If I think it’s terrible, I’m going to tell you that.
Yesterday, Keep This Up released their debut, 5 track, EP featuring singles Punchline and Worst Friend. I did a full review of both singles, so I won't be saying much about them, but there are still 3 new tracks on the EP. The EP opens with Choke, which from the start I knew I was going to love, it's just got that kick to it. It packs a punch, it's catchy, it's anthemic, it's got that angsty feel to it, and it's just truly an impressive track. It's got that old school pop-punk feel to it, and I just love everything about this track. It's truly an incredible track, and it just impresses me so much, I absolutely love the whole feel and vibe of this track, it's just spectacular, from the vocals to the guitar, and everything in between, it's a song with a big kick to it, and it's truly an impressive track. It's got an incredible, old school feel to the track, and I'm a big fan of that. Next up comes the single, Worst Friend. I loved this track when it first dropped, and I love it now. This was my favourite from the singles, it's just something else. It has a more polished sound than the previous tracks, and instrumentally it reminds me of Stop The Rain (now AVAERA). It's an incredible track, that truly packs a punch, and it's just insane. Up next is, Settle The Score, which has a nice, pop-punk feel to it, and just a nice kick to it. It's got some incredible elements on it, I think I prefer the instrumental elements of this track compared to the vocals, just because of the tempo really. The chorus, however, goes really hard and truly packs a punch. I love the feel of it, and it's incredible. The chorus is the bit that wins me over with this track, and the instrumentals. I think the chorus and the instrumental aspects are incredible, it showcases the bands true potential, and I really enjoy it. The penultimate track is the debut single, Punchlines, which I think we all know packs a punch (line), this track impressed me from the get-go, and although I've found other tracks from Keep This Up that I prefer, I still love it, this is just such a surreal track, and one that you really need to hear if you haven't already. It's phenomenal. The concluding track is Something To Say. This has a very familiar, pop-punk sound and feel to it. It's got that classic sort of Neck Deep feel to it. I love this track, and I just think it's incredible. This is a great closing track and s great track in general, I truly think this is my favourite Keep This Up track, and it's a great example as to why Keep This Up are a band worthy of your attention. I love it, and I think everyone needs to hear this track. I'm obsessed with this track, and it's the stand out track for me. Lyrically this song just hits the spot for me, and I think that's what won me over with the track, it's just surreal. Overall, I think it's safe to say I'm a big fan of Same Old Story, and it's a killer EP, it opens and closing on a strong track, leaving a great impression in my mind, and I think this is an EP that you HAVE to listen to. It's incredible, and I'm so incredibly impressed with it. I'd have to give Same Old Story a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. This EP is packed with belters and tracks not to be missed. If you love pop-punk, then this is the one for you!
