Welcome/welcome back to the blog! It’s a Sunday, so you know what that means. We’re talking Recent Releases. There should actually be another blog post later on in the week as well as I’m actually going to a gig again, and I intend to work it if I can. So stay tuned for another Distant Blue live review! Anyway, this week we’re going to be talking about new releases from, Misplaced, Clay J Gladstone, Ollie Hayes, Without Andrew, Passionflower, WRTHLESS, and Viva La Bear. This is going to be a pretty long post, and therefore I’m going to get straight to the point with my reviews.

Let’s start off with Misplaced, now here on the blog, we love Misplaced. They’re a phenomenal band, and one of the best next wave pop-punk bands in the scene. Hailing from Glasgow, they never fail to pack a punch within their tracks, and this track is no exception to the rule. Their new track, deep end, is a hard-hitting, anthem. It’s phenomenal. It’s got the same sort of feel as the likes of idk why I try. I love every single element of this track, this is just such an extraordinary track. The instrumental aspects, the vocals, the lyrics, everything about this track is a big yes and I’m obsessed with it. This truly is a magnificent track. It’s got some really nice, refreshing elements to it and I’m a big fan of this track. It’s got some subtle tempo changes, and I love it. Every single second of this track is phenomenal. This is another 5 out of 5 lemons release for Misplaced, and one of my favourite tracks they’ve released recently. Where To Find Misplaced; SpotifyInstagramTwitterFacebookYouTubeApple Music

Next up, let’s talk about Clay J Gladstone. Clay J Gladstone dropped another reimagined track, this time it was for Move On. Now I loved the original of Move On, it was fast, it was punchy, it was impactful and had a great feel to it. The reimagined version is actually such an incredible rendition of the track. It’s got a great feel to it, and although it’s the same track it offers a completely different listening experience. I actually think this version hits harder, you can hear the emotion, and this is the sort of track that I would cry to at 2am when the world feels like it’s imploding on me. It’s a beautiful track, and considering I often find acoustic versions of tracks to be lacklustre, I really love this one! It’s got a great feel to it, and it’s another solid 5 out of 5 lemons release from Clay J Gladstone. If you can spare a few minutes, listen to it and understand the beauty of it. The vocals are extraordinary. Truly magnificent and this rendition of Move On is just insane!

Moving on, we’re talking about Ollie Hayes again, it feels like forever since we spoke about Ollie but really it’s only been a few weeks since we spoke about Happy Face (which I can confirm I’ve had on heavy rotation since the review). Online is Ollie’s latest track and offers a different feel to it, it’s got a super electronic feel to it. But Ollie is a very versatile artist, so this isn’t unexpected.  I actually quite like this track, it’s got a nice feel to it. And I think it’s got a great set of lyrics to it. Although the isn’t the sort of track I tend to reach for, I think Ollie will persuade me to listen to this track a fair bit. It’s got a nice feeling to it, and it just makes you feel good. It’s got a euphoric feeling to the track, and I’m a big fan of the track. It’s pretty impressive, and to say it’s an electronic track it still held my attention throughout the entire track, and it’s just phenomenal. It’s truly a wonderful track and one I’d highly recommend checking out. This is another 5 out of 5 lemons track from Ollie. I’m really into this track, and that’s saying something. It’s got a nice feel to it and it’s just great.

Now, let’s talk about Without Andrew. They dropped a new track titled My Tinder Date Tried To Kill Me, which first of all, mood. But honestly, this is a great track. It’s got that classic Without Andrew feel to it. It’s heavy to an extent, and it’s loud and intense. It’s a great track and one that I would highly recommend checking out. I love this track and I think it’s wonderful. Honestly, love it. This track is just something else. It’s great and it truly packs a punch. I absolutely love everything about this track, and it’s a track I’d highly recommend. It’s definitely worthy of a 5 out of 5 lemon rating. But it’s Without Andrew so I’m really not surprised that this song goes as hard as it does. This truly is a phenomenal track and one I’d highly recommend checking out if you haven’t already.

Next up, we’re going to talk about WRTHLESS, I believe I’ve featured them on the blog previously, and I absolutely love them. I tell you, Scottish bands are elite! Fractured is such an incredible track, it's got that classic pop-punk feel to it, and it just hits the spot. It's got a great feel to it, and I'm obsessed with the feel of this track. I actually love this track more than I loved Dislike, and that's saying something. I think this track just hits home for me currently, and musically it's such an incredible song. The lyrics, the instrumental aspects, the vocals, everything about this song is fantastic. I'm a big fan of this track, and I think it really packs a punch. It's not the longest track in the world, with a listening time of just over 2 minutes, but there's a lot of energy crammed into those 2 minutes. It's an insane track, and I cannot recommend checking it out enough! It's phenomenal! This is a solid 5 out of 5 lemons track! Where To Find WRTHLESS;SpotifyInstagramTwitterFacebookYouTubeApple Music

Now, the last single I want to talk about is Here from Viva La Bear. I haven't spoken about these guys for a while, I think it was the start of the year when I last spoke about them, so it's been a while. But, I rate them so highly so I was super stoked for them to be releasing a new track! So, Here is a pretty typical Viva La Bear track. It packs a good enough punch, and as I've always said about Viva La Bear, the vocals are something else! I always love the vocals on a Viva La Bear track. They're just superior and honestly, such a great track. To say we haven't heard a lot from these guys since the start of the year, they're back and proving just how worthwhile they are of your attention. They're phenomenal, and this track is insane! I might actually prefer it to the previous singles. It's hard-hitting, it's anthemic, and it's just generally a great track. I cannot recommend it enough. This is a solid 5 out of 5 lemons track from Viva La Bear! I'm obsessed with it, and it truly is magnificent! Please, go check it out if you haven't already.

The final release I want to talk about is from Passionflower. Now it feels like forever since we first spoke about Passionflower, and this album/EP has been a long time coming. A lot of the tracks off of To Bloom Is To Grow have already been released, and therefore because they're not new to me, I don't have that much to say on them. Some of the tracks I've reviewed, and I've always been really impressed with Passionflower, I think they're incredible. There's a good variety of tracks on the album, the opening track gives me Bring Me The Horizon vibes, and the singles are quite emo/pop-punk heavy. The transitions on this album are great and considering there are only 8 tracks, it's got a listening time of just shy of 30 minutes. I love this album, it's a good album, and it's got a good variety on it. My favourite track is probably If Today Is For Living Then Why Am I Dying. There's just something about that track that hits home for me, and it's a stand out track. The singles are as good as ever, and I'm just here for the album really. It's decent, and if you're willing to give it a shot, then I'd highly recommend it. There are Mayday Parade vibes on some tracks, and Bring Me vibes on others. It's a great album for pop-punk and emo fans really, and I'm quite impressed with the album. It exceeded expectations, and because of that, I'm going to give this album a 5 out of 5 lemons! I really enjoyed every second of this album.
