Welcome/welcome back to the blog! I’ve been a bit distant from the blog lately, but life’s just chaos! But I’m back, and I’m going to try and step up with the blog posts currently, considering next month is December which means the Lemon Awards, and we need to feature as much new music as we can between now and then! So, today we have a new recent releases post, talking about Autumn Fires and After Elmer.

Let’s kick this post off by talking about our friends in After Elmer. Their latest track is titled When We Break. This offers a slower, sombre approach compared to the previous singles. However, that’s not a criticism. This is actually a decent track, it’s got that classic slow, chilled-out feel to it, and it’s got quite a sad feel to it. But the lyrics to this track are also sad. It’s definitely that token, slow, sad track. But I’m a big fan of it. It’s a nice track, and it’s got an incredible tempo change in the track. I’m a sucker for a good tempo change, so I was super stoked to hear the tempo change on this track because it’s insane! That’s what I want from a sad song, I want a nice, dramatic tempo change. After Elmer, have definitely hit the spot with this track, and I’m really impressed with it. It’s a great track and one I’d highly recommend checking out. It’s a great track, and it’s got a lovely feel to it. I’d highly recommend checking this track out if you haven’t already. The vocals are evidently the stand-out feature on the track, as that’s what this track is centred around realistically.Overall, I’m confident in giving When We Break by After Elmer a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! This track hits the spot for me, and I think it’s the nice, drastic tempo change that really won me over with this track. It’s truly exceptional. Please, go check this track out if you haven’t already!W

Now, let’s talk about Sunnyside, the latest EP from the ever-so-wonderful Autumn Fires. This EP features 3 previously released tracks, Sunnyside, Chemical Burn and Lifelines. However, there are 2 new tracks on the EP; these come in the form of Sandcastles and Miserable.Sunnyside is the title track and the opening track to the EP. This track really won me over when it was first released, and it’s still impressive now. I loved this track upon release. And I still love this track now; it’s a great track it’s so catchy. It’s an infectious track with a great feel and vibe to it, and I’m really a big fan of this track. It’s such an amazing track, and I actually think I love this track more now than I did upon the original release.

Next up comes Chemical Burn, which was another single from the EP and another track that I loved from the get-go. This was one of my favourite singles, and it’s such an incredible track. This was a stand-out track from Autumn Fires for me. It’s got a few more electronic elements to it, but I think that’s what gave it the edge and made me love it a bit more. This track has definitely grown on me more and more, and I’m a big fan of Chemical Burn!

The halfway point is marked with a new track featuring Luke from Royals; Sandcastles. This track offers a slightly more intense sound compared to the previous tracks. This is definitely a slightly more fast-paced track, and you know what? This has to be one of my favourite tracks that Autumn Fires have EVER released. This might actually be my favourite track from Autumn Fires, like holy shit, this track is insane! The guest vocals from Luke also just add to this track, and I’m here for it! I’m in love with this track, and it’s exceeded all expectations I had for the track. I’m well and truly blown away by this track; it’s catchy, it’s infectious, and this track is elite. I think this will be the track that sets the bar incredibly high for Autumn Fires. I’m so blown away by this track, and I cannot even process just how incredible it is! The drums on this track are a stand-out feature, along with the guitar. There’s just something about this track, and I’m well and truly blown away by this track. This is the sort of track that makes me fall in love with music again; holy shit, this is everything! If you’re going to listen to just one track off Sunnyside, then let it be this one; Sandcastles is where it’s at. It’s truly perfection; I cannot comprehend just how insane this track is! You NEED to hear this track. It’s everything.

The penultimate track is, Miserable. This track also hits the spot like Sandcastles did. I still prefer Sandcastles, but I still love this track. This track is another incredible one. The drums on this track are everything! I’m actually really impressed with this track, this has to be my second favourite track off the EP, and I really am impressed with it. I love this track. It’s incredible, and it does hit the spot. It’s incredible. There’s such a great vibe and feel to this track; it just hits the spot and makes you feel a certain way. It’s got a bit of a fuck you feel to it, and I’m here for it.

The last track on the album comes in the form of, Lifelines, which is another great track. I loved this track upon its release, and I still love it now. It’s a great track, and I think it’s a great closing track to the EP. I did a full review of this track upon its release, and I still love it just as much as I did then. It’s a great track, and I’d probably put Lifelines on par with Chemical Burn. It’s a great track, and I love it, but I don’t think anything compares to Sandcastles.

To conclude, I think it’s safe to say Sunnyside is an incredible EP! I’m really impressed with this EP, and it’s exceeded all expectations that I had for it. I’m more than happy to give Sunnyside a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. This really is a spectacular EP, and Sandcastles really has won me over. Maybe this EP will be in running for EP of the year. Please, go give this EP a spin if you haven’t already, and show Autumn Fires some much-deserved love and support!
