Welcome/welcome back to the blog! This post was supposed to happen last week, but if you missed the memo I've been recovering from a dislocated shoulder so it's been pretty difficult getting content out. However, I'm back! I'm doing this post finally! So, today we're going to be doing a bit of an introducing post to The Galacticas. Anthony messaged me at the end of last month and sent his band in as a submission. Funnily enough, without even releasing, I've had The Galacticas on the Small Band Appreciate playlist for months now! Anyway, let's get into talking about The Galacticas. The Galacticas are a three-piece, pop-punk band from the states. The band consists of: Anthony Janicki - Vocals and GuitarWill Cowan - DrummerMark Ferguson - Bass and Backing VocalsThe Galacticas have a lot of releases for a small band, and too many for me to put into one post. But they are a band with a lot of potential and talent. Although they aren't my favourite band I've featured, I can sit back and appreciate their music and I do like their music, I just think there's a lot of bands out there with a similar sound and feel to them. You can hear the classic pop-punk influences within their tracks, and especially their hit track Mario Kart at Amy's Apartment. This is the track that impressed me the most from the band and made it easy to see why this is the most notable track. It's got a blink feel to it, and I really like the track. It's decent. I just think there's a lot of bands with a similar sound nowadays. I do love the vocals though, the vocals are a stand out feature for me. I really love Anthony's voice! They also have an album out, which is pretty impressive, and an EP that is pretty much album length with 10 tracks. They then have a shorter EP, which features Mario Kart at Amy's Apartment. For a band to have this many tracks out and available for audible pleasure, is really impressive. Going To Hell, the concluding track from EP, Emoticon is another impressive track for me. Although it doesn't hit the spot the same as Mario Kart does, it's still incredible and has a more of a Bowling For Soup feel to it. I like it, it's decent. To be fair, I don't think I can criticise any of the tracks that The Galacticas have released, it's just that there's a lot of other bands out there with a similar sound.

I would say that all EP's and albums are 5 out of 5 lemons. They're great pieces, I just feel like there's a lot of similar bands out there, and I talk about and listen to a lot of music, so I just find the sound is becoming a bit oversaturated in the music scene. I'd say if you've not heard as many bands as I have, or you just love bands that have a lot of hints of the old school pop-punk bands, then go and check The Galacticas out. They're an impressive band, and I do really like them. They've definitely grown on me the more I've heard them! I would highly rate them though! They're a solid choice, so if you want to check out a new pop-punk band then go and give them achance!
