Recent Releases: Distant Blue, Passionflower, After Elmer and Misplaced

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! I’m back and I’m finally talking about new music again! We’re back with a recent releases post talking about the latest tracks from Distant Blue, Passionflower, After Elmer and Misplaced. Some of these posts are probably over a month old, but we’re going to be talking about them anyway!

Let’s kick it off by talking about our friends in After Elmer. Their latest track comes in the form of 246 Toothpicks. From the first few seconds I knew I was going to love this track. It’s got a great vibe to it, and I love the tempo of the chorus. It’s a pretty catchy track, and I actually think this is my favourite track from After Elmer. That tempo change is nice, and I just love this track. Like, holy shit, this is the best track After Elmer has put out, and it’s so obvious to see why. It’s insane. This track has everything you could want and more, it’s punchy. This is one of the best tracks I’ve heard this year, and I absolutely love it. Well and truly in love with this beauty. The lyrics to this track are one of the stand out elements to me. For example these lyrics are everything “You are just eleven, one day you’re twenty three and then you’ll know, you’re everything you wanna be”. This is a track I’d go and get tattooed on me, I love it that much. This track is just mind blowing. It’s insane. I truly cannot comprehend just how insane this track is. Honestly, a massive well done to After Elmer on this one. They’ve just killed it with this track, they’ve exceeded all expectations I had for this track, and they’ve set the standard so high for the further releases. I don’t even have the words to express just how much I love this track. It truly is everything I could have hoped it would be and more. Well done to After Elmer on this one. It’s insane. Such a phenomenal track and that’s why I’m more than happy to give this track a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. This track is about to make its way into heavy rotation and it will find itself on my daily playlists. If you haven’t heard this track yet, then you need to go check it out! This is After Elmer’s best track to date, and it’s one not to be slept on.

Next up, let’s talk about Passionflower. Passionflower dropped their latest track Amor a couple weeks back and I love this track. I love Kyle’s vocals on this track. It’s not as catchy or fast paced as some of the previous tracks, but it’s still a great track and one I love a lot. It’s got a lovely vibe to it, and the context of the song is great. I do really like this track, it’s just got such a nice vibe to it, and whilst it’s not as catchy as some of the previous tracks, the vocals just kill it on this track. This track is great, and I do really love it. There’s a nice little tempo change in the track as well, which we all know I’m a sucker for and therefore wins me over. I quite like the vibe of this track, and the way this track flows. The guitar as well, like holy shit. So whilst, this isn’t going to be that super catchy, infectious track, it’s still an incredible track and one that absolutely wins me over. There are a lot of elements of this track I love and win me over, and I can imagine me listening to this track a fair bit. However, it’s not my favourite track that Passionflower have released. I love the lyrics and the vocals to this track though, I know I’ve said that but they really are the stand out features to me, honestly, if you haven’t heard this track, I highly recommend checking it out for the vocals. I’m confident with giving Amor a solid 4 out of 5 lemons. I love this track, and it has won me over, but for me personally, I just prefer some of their other tracks more. I would highly recommend giving this track a spin though, because it is a great track, and one that I can imagine a lot of people would love.

Now, let’s talk about Misplaced. Now, this track did come out last month, and I just haven’t got round to reviewing it until now. However, this track is a collaboration with WSTR. This track is titled Tom in 03. This has that punchy, anthemic sound that we expect from Misplaced. I love this track. This track instantly won me over, but I expected nothing less. The vocals on this are great, and just the whole vibe of this track is incredible. It’s just got such a great vibe to it, and it’s such a catchy track. It’s got such a punchy feel to it, and I’m here for it. I love Misplaced, and everything they put out always wins me over, so I knew this track would do it for me. If you haven’t heard this track yet, then please go change that. This is such an incredible track, it’s got that classic Misplaced vibe to it that we all know and love. It’s catchy, it’s punchy, there’s not one dull moment of the track. This is one of those tracks that you just love because it’s just an infectious track, and it really does pack a punch. It’s incredible. Misplaced always blow me away, and this track is no exception to that. I know for a fact, I’ll be playing this track a lot, just like the rest of Misplaced’s discography. I love it, the drums on this track are a stand out feature, and I’m just here for this track. It’s great, and if you haven’t heard this track yet, then please go change that. I love this track, and I’m confident giving Tom in 03 a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. Misplaced never disappoint, and this track is just further proof to that fact.

Finally, for this post, let’s talk about our wonderful friends in Distant Blue. Again, this track dropped a good few weeks ago, and I just haven’t got round to reviewing it. But here we are now. Distant Blue are another band that just never disappoint. I absolutely love them, they’re one of my favourite bands, and they’re just such a great band and such lovely people. So when they dropped CHESHIRE SMILE I was hyped. This again, has a classic Distant Blue feel to it, and I’m here for it. I love the vibe of this track, and Ed’s vocals are incredible as always. Now, I’m not saying CHESHIRE SMILE is going to dethrone Come and Join The Party, but it’s certainly here to give it a run for its money. I love this track, it’s got such an incredible sound and vibe to it, and I knew I was going to love it, because I tend to love everything Distant Blue come out with, but it’s definitely exceeded the expectations I had for this track. It’s just incredible. I love the guitar on this track as well, there’s certain elements on this track that give me like classic 80’s sort of rock vibes and I’m here for it. This track is definitely everything I could have hoped it would be and more. If you haven’t heard this track already, then I’d highly suggest you go and give it a spin. It’s incredible. I know for a fact I’m going to be listening to this track A LOT. It’s just incredible, and I’m just well and truly in love with this track! Please, go and give it a spin if you haven’t already. And if you have, then go give it another spin, because it’s truly just such a phenomenal track. I love it so much, it’s only February and this track might be a contender for song of the year. Absolutely blown away by this track, and that’s why I’m confident giving CHESHIRE SMILE a solid 5 out of 5 lemons!
