Embers by Protect Your Heart

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! It’s been a while, and I do have some submissions to get through, but please bear with me currently. But, we are back with a new post talking about our wonderful friends in Protect Your Heart and their latest single, Embers.

I think anybody who has ever read any of my blog posts before, or even just follows me on social media knows I adore Protect Your Heart more than most things in life. They are just such an incredible band, and one that I will always show as much love and support for as I can. Seriously, if you’ve never listened to any of their tracks before, then you are really missing out. They know exactly what they’re doing and they do it so well. They push the boundaries of pop-punk as a genre, and sound incredible as they do it.

Protect Your Heart have never disappointed me yet, whenever they drop a new track I know I’m about to fall in love with it. The vocals on this track are incredible, and I always say Matty has one of the best voices out there currently, and I still stand by that. I swear, the talent that Matty, Kean, Jake, Anthony and Mauricio have is next level. The 5 of them have more talent than some of the bands that dominate the scene, and whilst I love all small bands endlessly, if people ask me for an example of a band that’s talent majorly exceeds the recognition they get, I will always reference Protect Your Heart, and Embers is a perfect example as to why.

Embers packs a punch, from the first couple seconds this track had me hooked. Just from the teasers alone I was hooked. This track was instantly in my top 3 PYH tracks. Since it was released last Thursday I’ve listened to this track on repeat, it’s pretty much the only track I’ve listened to. It’s been a while since a track has made me cry, but the first half an hour I spent listening to this track, I couldn’t stop crying over the bridge.

If you’ve listened to this track before, then you’ll understand what I mean about the bridge, but it just hits home. There’s a lot of emotion in this track, and I think that’s apparent in the vocals. The vocals on this track are comparable to the vocals on Last To Love You, and I’m here for it.

I like the little tempo change for the bridge, and this is another track that makes me just lose my shit, because it’s incredible. This is one of the best tracks I’ve heard in a while, and it might even be my favourite track from the new era.

I truly, cannot recommend this track enough, the whole sound and vibe of this track is everything, and I can’t fault one element of this track. It’s insane, like truly I’m at a loss for words because it’s just so surreal. My only suggestion is to go and give the track a listen if you haven’t already, so you can understand and appreciate just how phenomenal this track is. Truly a masterpiece.

I think it’s safe to say Embers is a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. Without a doubt. One of the best tracks I’ve heard this year, and one I cannot recommend enough. If I could give this track more than 5 out of 5, then I would. I also just wanna say a massive well done to Matty, Kean, Jake, Anthony and Mauricio for this track, because it’s incredible. The talent just radiates through this track, and it’s a great example of the pure talent you’ll find in small bands, and Protect Your Heart remind me why I love supporting small bands so much, because they are truly so incredibly talented, and I cannot recommend you go and check this track out enough.
