Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Yes, I am back, lemon awards are coming, recent release post is coming. Trying to get my mojo back and then the blog will be back in full force again. However, this post could not wait, because it's Good Hustles, and I think we're all aware of my bond with the band, so I did bring this post forward to today. Good Hustles are back with a new single from their upcoming record that drops in a month. The new track is Waking Up In Your Clothes. Now, I love Good Hustles, and I believe they are incapable of releasing a bad track, and I'm not being biased here. I will say that Waking Up In Your Clothes is not like the previous singles we've had. This is a lot softer, it's a lot more chilled out. It's not a bad track, it just isn't my favourite track. Yes, it's a great song, and there are tempo changes within it, so I by default like it, it's not got the same anthemic feel as the likes of Too Far and Coffee. However, I do feel like most albums require a chilled out track, like Waking Up In Your Clothes. I don't doubt for one second that this song will grow on me, I know for a fact it will. I know that I'll come to love this track like I have with many other tracks. I do like the song, although the slow feel isn't my favourite, I'm not opposed to it. I think the vocals are phenomenal on this track, and I often say that when it comes to Morton's vocals, I think this track actually showcases Morton's phenomenal vocals very well. I really like the track, and the more I listen to it, the more I like it, it's just not my favourite track. I'd say if you aren't instantly blown away by it, then listen to it a few more times. It's a track that grows on you. Or, alternatively, if you like sounds with a calmer feel compared to the previous singles from Good Hustles, then you could also really like the song. The song is more chilled out, but it's got a good vibe to it, and it sounds good. It also highlights just how versatile Good Hustles are because they truly are versatile.  Every element on the track is good, from the vocals to the lyrics, to the guitar and everything in between. Every element is good, and it works. This is a great track, and I'm sure it'll be a fantastic song to hear live. Personally, this isn't beating Too Far and Coffee, because there's just something special about those tracks. But, I do still like this track, and I still think it's a good song. I think it works, and I think it's a fantastic track, and the more I listen to it, the more I come to love the track. So, all things considered, I'm still going to go with a 5 out of 5 lemons. I can't let my personal preferences get in the way (which is something I'm going to try and focus on a bit less), so although this isn't an anthem to scream at the top of your lungs to the point that by the time the song has finished, you've lost your voice, it's still a great track, and every member featured on the track has done a great job on the track. It's a great track, and after the first minute, I really dig the track, so it's great. It's a good song. I'm now a bit more excited about Apes' release next month. If you haven't heard this track yet, or maybe, you've never listened to Good Hustles, go show them some love! They deserve it, and they're one of the best bands in the underground music scene, yet they don't get anywhere near the attention they deserve. Where To Find Good Hustles; SpotifyInstagramFacebookYouTubeApple Music Where To Find Me: Here on LifeIsALemon more days than not, at 7pm (UK Time) TwitterInstagramFacebookMy Novel Small Band Appreciation Playlist (Spotify)For all blog related enquires contact me at myvoicebrandnew@hotmail.com
