Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I’m back with a recent releases post to talk about 3 new tracks from Hightail, Misplaced and Xo Armor. I’ve worked with all 3 of these bands before and have a lot of love and respect for them all.
Let’s kick this post off with talking about Hightail. We love Hightail here, and they released a new track recently called Note To Self. This was instantly one of my favourite tracks from them. It’s got such a great feel to it, and it’s even got some subtle tempo changes. I do really did this track. I think it’s wonderful. The guitar on it is a stand out feature for me, although every element on this track is impressive, and gripped my attention. This is without a doubt one of the best tracks from Hightail though. It’s insane, such a great track with an impressive feel to it. I’m well and truly impressed with this track, and it’s really impressed me. I didn’t expect this track to be as good as it is, so I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s quite a catchy song, with a great set of lyrics to accompany it. I am well and truly impressed with this track, and it packs a punch. You could easily listen to this track on repeat for an hour or so and not get bored of it. That’s proof of how impressive, and catchy this track is. Overall, this is a solid track, and I feel confident in giving it a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. This is an absolute belter of a track, and I’d give it a higher rating if one existed. This is easily in my top 3 tracks from Hightail. I really didn’t expect it to be as good as it is. If you haven’t heard this track already, then I highly suggest you go and check it out, because it truly is wonderful.

Next up let’s talk about Xo Armor. We haven’t spoken about this lot for a while, but when we did feauture them last, we were blown away by just how great they were. They offered a lot of talent, and they truly were such an impressive, and mind blowing band. They really blew me away with just how great their music actually was, and they’ve just released a new track a few days ago, so let’s speak about our opinions on it. This track is titled Carno, and boy, this is a beautiful track. It’s heavier, it’s got that classic, heavier Bring Me vibe, a bit of Beartooth and maybe even elements that remind me of We Came As Romans. I don’t know what I expected of this track, but it certainly wasn’t this. Believe me, this track is so much better than I ever could have imagined. I’m blown away by it, and this just has such a cool vibe and feel to it. The drums on this track are the stand out feature for me, and I’m truly blown away by this track. This is one of the best, and more refreshing tracks I’ve listened to recently. This track could easily make its way into the running for song of the year. This track just gives off immaculate vibes, and has such an incredible feel to it. I’m well and truly obsessed with this track. Not one element I could fault. From the rough vocals, to the contrasting clean vocals, the spoken elements. The drums, the guitar, the tempo changes, and everything in between. This track is immaculate. One of the best tracks I’ve heard recently, and I cannot recommend checking it out enough. Honestly, if you haven’t heard this track already, then go and change that, because this is a solid 5 out of 5 lemons track. Without a doubt, I’d rank it higher if it was possible. This is a stand out track to me, and I truly cannot comprehend the insanity of this track. It’s truly a phenomenal track, and it’s blown my mind. One of the best releases of the year!

Finally, let’s talk about our Scottish friends, Misplaced. We love Misplaced. They’re a stellar band, and one that I will always sing the praises of. They know exactly what they’re doing, and how to do it. They make some of the best new wave pop-punk, and whilst I love so many Scottish bands, I will forever vouch for the fact they’re one of the best bands Scotland has to offer, and that’s saying something. They never disappoint, and while their songs have some great variation in sound, they always kill it. They’ve got a song for all moods, and they always smash every release they put out. Therefore, I went into the new track GHOSTTOWN, with high expectations, and I wasn’t disappointed. This track opts for a more pop-punk orientated track, and I’m 100% here for that. I love this track, every single second of it, and this would be a sick song to hear live. This is a shorter track than average, with a listening time of roughly 2 and a half minutes. However, that’s pretty standard for Misplaced. But, they make every second count, and they blow it out of the water with every second spent on this track. It holds your attention for the entire duration and manages to keep you engaged from the first to last second of the track. Therefore, I can safely give this track a solid 5 out of 5 lemons! If you haven’t heard it already, please go and change that, because it truly is an insane track.
