Myopia by Part Time Animals

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re back, and I’m pretty excited about this post!

If you know me, or you’ve been around long enough, you’ll know one of my favourite bands to ever talk about and see live was our friends in The Mocking Jays. That band was a key element to this blog, and I even got tattoos for this band. However, about 2 weeks ago, they did announce what a lot of expect and knew was coming. The band was no more. However, from the ashes of The Mocking Jays rose Part Time Animals. Essentially it’s the same band, but with a different name and a different sound. For me, and some of my friends who liked them and saw them live too, this sound was expected. It was clear that they were moving away from the pop-rock sound and into the more pop-punk, alt-rock sort of sound. So yes, whilst this is a whole new band, with a new sound. The band does still consist of Jay, Lewis, Alex and Sam. They’re very much a band who know what they’re doing, and they do it well! Therefore I was super hyped for this track to be released.

Yesterday (30th September), Part Time Animals released their debut single, Myopia. I knew I was going to love this track because I knew what sort of sound the band was aiming for, and that had me super hyped! And I can safely say it did not disappoint in the slightest. From the first few seconds, you’re hooked on this track. It packs a punch, it hits the spot, and it’s a genuinely enjoyable track to listen to. Myopia even has a nice little touch of some rough vocals on the track, and I truly think that just made the track pure perfection. There’s a bit of a dirty, gritty feel to the track, and I think that just adds more dimension to the track. I truly love this track.

I knew I was going to love it, but it’s so much better than I ever anticipated. I love the subtle tempo changes in the track, and I love that no matter if you listen to it for 10 minutes or an hour, you’re not going to get bored of hearing it. Myopia really does hit the spot. There’s so much going on in the track that there’s always something to keep you engaged with the listening experience. And the range of vocals on this track… truly spectacular! This is one of my favourite releases for this year. And I’m not just saying it; it’s got everything within it that I could ever hope for. The verses truly do pack a punch, and it just leaves you wanting more.

The whole feel of this track is phenomenal. The rough vocals really do just bring this track together. It’s insane. I absolutely adore this track. Part Time Animals are setting the standard high with this track, and I’m excited to hear what comes next. If Myopia is anything to go by, Part Time Animals are going to be a band to keep an eye on.

I think it’s safe to say that, whilst it was expected that I would love this track, it’s exceeded all expectations I had for it! It’s insane! This is a mega track. I know for a fact this is going to be in heavy rotation, and just the whole vibe of this track wins me over. Honestly, such an insane track and one that you really do need to give a listen to. It packs a punch, and it leaves you anticipating what comes next. It’s just insane, I love this track, and I’m well and truly in love with it! It’s really impressed me, and it’s left me just as impressed as the likes of Last To Love You by Protect Your Heart. It’s an incredible track, and I’m confident in giving Part Time Animals their first, 5 out of 5 lemons for Myopia. If you haven’t heard this track already, go and give it a spin. It’s an incredible track that really is impressive! Would 100% highly recommend going and checking it out.
