So Over You by Hometruths

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about Hometruths and their new track So Over You. This is my first time featuring Hometruths on the blog, however, I have been a fan of them for a few months now, and originals came across them as they're set to play Mind Fest, so I gave them a listen and instantly fell in love. So, this post was highly anticipated for me. I was super stoked when they said they'd be happy for me to do a blog post on the track, so here we are.

I went into this track having pretty high hopes for this track, as Hometruths are one of those bands I have faith in always putting out an incredible track.

The intro has an early 2000's pop-punk vibe to it. It entices me, and it was from the first few seconds I knew this was going to be great. Then the vocals kicked in, and that really did prove to me, that I was right to have high hopes for this track. It sounds great, it has classic pop-punk vibes to it, with beautiful vocals, and insane lyrics. From the first 30 seconds of the track, it's clear to see just how incredibly talented Hometruths are.

The track is actually insanely catchy, as well as having those classic pop-punk vibes. This is like if you took the catchy vocals of the likes of Waterparks (although, arguable Hometruths have better vocals) and you took the sound of New Found Glory and merged them together. I love the vocals, the guitar, the drums, the bass, every element on this track gets a big yes from me. I actually cannot process just how insane this track is, it's catchy, whilst still sounding like a classic pop-punk track, it's one of those tracks that you just know if you hear it live, you're going to be there losing your shit and screaming at the top of your lungs. I'm incredibly impressed with this track, I just think it's insane.

This is an anthem, this is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time, and I honestly think it's a very strong contender for song of the year. I know, we're only in May and the Lemon Awards don't happen until December, but this song is insane, and I'd be shocked if we don't see it on the nominations list.

I'm well and truly obsessed with this track, I didn't expect So Over You to give Soundtrack a run for its money when it comes to my favourite Hometruths, but it is. It's insane, I'm obsessed with this track, and I'm blown away by how great this track is, and honestly, I cannot recommend you going and checking it out enough.

Overall, I'm speechless at how great So Over You is. Hometruths have done such a great job on this track, and it's just an incredible track. Please, please, please go and check out this track. It's incredible. One of the best songs I've heard in a long time... and I don't just mean from small bands, I mean from bands of all sizes.

I'd have to give So Over You by Hometruths a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. I'd go as far as to say 6 out of 5 lemons. It's just that great of a track, and this has exceeded all expectations. I'm obsessed with it.

Empty Streets by Aim High

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! On today’s instalment of Grace rambles about small bands and their latest releases, we have Aim High with their latest single Empty Streets.   Now, we all know I’m a sucker for a good Aim High release, and they always put out belters of tracks!   This track features Driveways, it has a different vibe to previous tracks, but as we've spoken about before, Aim High tend to change their sound with each track, or nearly every track. Never drastic changes, but noticeable. This track is very unique, there's a lot of different tempo changes. There's a noticeable change between the verses and chorus, but it's a sound I'm here for. The bridge in the track is insane.  This is such a great track it's an impactful track. This is honestly a belter. This is such a surreal track, honestly a belter. This may not be my favourite track from Aim High but it's definitely one worth checking out and showing some love about. This is honestly such a

Pink Alligator by Those Without

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I’m super excited to be talking to you about Pink Alligator by Those Without. Now, Those Without are a band I’ve listened to for a few months and I’ve liked the releases they’ve put out. However, no previous track has got me as hyped as Pink Alligator did.   Knowing what sort of tracks Those Without put out, I was pretty excited for this release, and I had pretty decent expectations.   I want to start off by saying since this track was released, I have been listening to it constantly. Every time I get in the car I'm there putting it on repeat for my drive, everytime I go to listen to music, I'm going to be there listening to this track. I am well and truly obsessed with it. So, when I tell you that this song has blown my mind and really has beaten all expectations I had for it, I mean it.  Pink Alligator has an infectious beat to it, and it's one of the catchiest tracks to be released recently. The tempo changes between the verses a

A Spark To Ignite by Royals

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about Royals again. Royals went and dropped a new EP on Friday, and I feel like it was something we all needed in our lives.  I  had pretty decent expectations for this EP judging by the 4 tracks we’ve already heard off the EP. I’ve done a full review of Worldwide Catastrophe and Jaded so I won’t be saying much about them, but I never reviewed Fair-Weather Friend and Out of Reach, so I will speak a little about them but probably not the same amount as Gone.   Anyway, the EP opens with Worldwide Catastrophe. This is an absolute belter of a track. This track is surreal. It packs a punch, it does everything you’d want it to do and more. It’s just insane. I absolutely love this track, I loved it when it first released and I love it all the same now. It’s a great song and one I still highly recommend!   The second track is Fair-Weather Friend. This was one of the first tracks released off this EP, and it is an incredibl
