Grey Skies by Hightail

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I'm going to be talking about Hightail and their latest single Grey Skies. Grey Skies was released on Friday (7th May) and this wasn't the first track I've heard from Hightail, this is just the first track I'm reviewing.

I've always been impressed by Hightail tracks, and always appreciated the sound and vibe they've opted for, and therefore I knew this would be a decent track, and if that didn't tell me enough, then the fact Grey Skies has amassed over 4000 streams since it's release, is enough to confirm to me, that Hightail knows what they're doing.

The intro alone was enough to grab my attention. It wasn't overly long, it was fast-paced, it was enticing. When the vocals kicked in, it was no different. It was impactful, it was great. It grabbed my attention and sounded exactly like I expected it to sound. It impressed me from the get-go. I love the pace of the track, I love the vibe of the track, and I love all elements of the track. It did everything I wanted it to do, and more.

Listening to the track reminds me of listening to The Story So Far, but 2011-2015 TSSF, mixed with Real Friends. It's fast, it's heavier than a lot of other pop-punk we see, but whilst still being classic pop-punk. I love the vibe of this track. I love the intensity of it, I love the vocals, the drums, the guitar, the bass, the lyrics, everything about this track is insane. I love this sound, it's what I wish more pop-punk artists still sounded like.

I think this track is incredible, it packs a punch and does everything I could hope it would do, and more. It's a great track, and it's one that I'm really impressed with. It's clear to see and understand why Grey Skies has gained as many streams as it has, already. It's a phenomenal track, and I'm really impressed with it. I knew it would be good, but I didn't expect it to be this good. I love it, I think it's an insanely good track.

Overall, I'd give Grey Skies a solid 5 out of 5 lemons. I think it's an insane track, one that really does impress me, and one that proves just how great Hightail are as a band. Their music is insane, and if you haven't listened to them yet, then please go and change that. They're such an incredible band, one that I can't recommend you going and checking out enough.

Empty Streets by Aim High

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! On today’s instalment of Grace rambles about small bands and their latest releases, we have Aim High with their latest single Empty Streets.   Now, we all know I’m a sucker for a good Aim High release, and they always put out belters of tracks!   This track features Driveways, it has a different vibe to previous tracks, but as we've spoken about before, Aim High tend to change their sound with each track, or nearly every track. Never drastic changes, but noticeable. This track is very unique, there's a lot of different tempo changes. There's a noticeable change between the verses and chorus, but it's a sound I'm here for. The bridge in the track is insane.  This is such a great track it's an impactful track. This is honestly a belter. This is such a surreal track, honestly a belter. This may not be my favourite track from Aim High but it's definitely one worth checking out and showing some love about. This is honestly such a

Pink Alligator by Those Without

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today I’m super excited to be talking to you about Pink Alligator by Those Without. Now, Those Without are a band I’ve listened to for a few months and I’ve liked the releases they’ve put out. However, no previous track has got me as hyped as Pink Alligator did.   Knowing what sort of tracks Those Without put out, I was pretty excited for this release, and I had pretty decent expectations.   I want to start off by saying since this track was released, I have been listening to it constantly. Every time I get in the car I'm there putting it on repeat for my drive, everytime I go to listen to music, I'm going to be there listening to this track. I am well and truly obsessed with it. So, when I tell you that this song has blown my mind and really has beaten all expectations I had for it, I mean it.  Pink Alligator has an infectious beat to it, and it's one of the catchiest tracks to be released recently. The tempo changes between the verses a

A Spark To Ignite by Royals

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're going to be talking about Royals again. Royals went and dropped a new EP on Friday, and I feel like it was something we all needed in our lives.  I  had pretty decent expectations for this EP judging by the 4 tracks we’ve already heard off the EP. I’ve done a full review of Worldwide Catastrophe and Jaded so I won’t be saying much about them, but I never reviewed Fair-Weather Friend and Out of Reach, so I will speak a little about them but probably not the same amount as Gone.   Anyway, the EP opens with Worldwide Catastrophe. This is an absolute belter of a track. This track is surreal. It packs a punch, it does everything you’d want it to do and more. It’s just insane. I absolutely love this track, I loved it when it first released and I love it all the same now. It’s a great song and one I still highly recommend!   The second track is Fair-Weather Friend. This was one of the first tracks released off this EP, and it is an incredibl
