Purgatory by Nautical Mile

If you know me, or you're not new around here, then you will know that Nautical Mile is one of my all-time favourite bands. They're phenomenal, and I truly believe they are incapable of making bad music. They're the band behind my joint-favourite album of all time, and I never really shut up about them. So, if you're unfamiliar with them, then Nautical Mile are an Australian pop-punk/post-hardcore band! They're mind-blowingly incredible!

They announced that they had signed to Manic Kat Records, and they dropped a new song on Friday, they didn't really announce it, they just did it.

Straight off, I will admit that I couldn't resist listening to it, and I absolutely love it! I think it's incredible, but I don't want to say too much right now. We'll come back to this at the end.

So Purgatory is similar to some of the tracks we saw on The Only Way Is Through, but the chorus really hits the spot. The chorus goes so far, and Brodi's vocals!

Now, I said in my review of Coffee by Good Hustles that it takes a lot for me to pick the drums as a stand out feature for me on a track, but Caleb is too good of a drummer to not pick up on his skill. The drums are definetly at the forefront of this track, and they're at that intensity where if they were any louder then it'd be overpowering, but it's not.

The musical elements in this song are truly something else. The guitar riff in the bridge is insane! I swear, it could blow my brains out with just how incredible it is. I love it. I think it's insane to see a small band making songs this incredible, and not being one of the biggest bands in the scene.

I do want to come back to what I said earlier about Brodi's vocals. They're just insane! Brodi's vocals blow my mine every time, because his voice is phenomenal! He's got such a powerful voice, and it really suits the music that Nautical Mile make, and I'm just so blown away by the talent! Honestly, what a band!

I actually quite like the lyrics to this track as well, and the chorus has been stuck in my head since Friday. I can't get over just how incredible this track is. I always hype up Nautical Mile, but please, if you haven't checked them out already, listen to this song! Purgatory is just so intense and it's honestly a tune and a half! This I truly believe, is my song of the year. I know I said that about Coffee, but Purgatory is just insane!

The way Brodi says "Come get me" in the chorus is like that 11 second bit in Sweet Tooth, that's Purgatory's equivalen. We all know it takes a lot for me to put anything on the same level as Sweet Tooth, but it's just incredible! I can't find one flaw with this track. It really is flawless, and the fact that Nautical Mile aren't one of the biggest bands in the scene shocks me.

So, I do think this song is incredible, it's mind-blowing. I really do think Purgatory is my song of the year, and I don't think there's enough words to describe just how this song makes me feel. I love the energy and the entire vibe of this track. It's so intense, but in the best way possible. It truly is a song that only Nautical Mile could do for me to love it the way I do.

We all know Sweet Tooth and Spin The Bottle are my favourite Nautical Mile songs, and currently Purgatory isn't on that level, but it's on the same level as Marionette, which is a very close second favourite for me, so I think that's saying something, but the more I listen to this track the more I'm falling in love with it! I just love it! I love the energy in it, and I think it's insane!

Overall, I do have to give Purgatory a solid 5 out of 5 lemons, I'd go as far as to say 6 out of 5 lemons, but not everyone accepts that as a real raitng, so Nautical Mile can decide which one they want to go with. I honestly do love this track, and I cannot wait to see what comes next for Nautical Mile! I'm rooting for them to achieve big things, and no matter how big they get I'll always be here supporting them, because they truly are one of my favourite bands of ALL TIME! I love them! So please, go check them out, show them some love and support, and spread the word about them because they're insane! They really are!

Worst Friend by Keep This Up

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we're talking about our lovely friends Keep This Up. I did a review of their debut single Punchlines not long after release, and now they've gone and blessed us with a new track titled Worst Friend. I loved Punchlines so I was super hyped for this track to drop!  This is an incredibly punchy track, but what more did I really expect from Keep This Up? This is a magnificent single and one that has those early 2000's pop-punk vibes that we all seem to rely on to give us some serotonin nowadays. I love the whole vibe of this track, and it really does pack a punch. This is just such an insane track. This track gives such a great and enjoyable listening experience. There's nothing I can really point fault at with this track, yes okay, a lot of pop-punk tracks are all sounding like each other at this point, but this track just has its own unique little twist on the classic pop-punk sound. I love the lyrics, the vocals, the drums, the g

We’re All On Drugs by Dead Bundy

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Today we’re going to be talking about a blog favourite, Dead Bundy! Dead Bundy blessed us with another new track on Friday, and it’s called “We’re All On Drugs”.   This is a classic Dead Bundy track, is and one that packs the punch that most Dead Bundy songs seem to pack. I love the whole vibe and feel of this track, I love that there’s a great mix of different elements in the track to add that something to it, and to enable to the song to be engaging. There’s some subtle tempo changes, but they’re nothing dramatic, but I’m not mad at it. Honestly, this just isn’t a bad track whatsoever.  I honestly think this a pretty solid track, and whilst it does sound similar to some of the previous singles from Dead Bundy, it’s very much it’s own track, there’s some similarities within the track which is what gives it that classic Dead Bundy sound, but there’s enough different elements for you to not feel as if you’ve heard this track before. I really like it tho

Disassociate by Light Grey

Welcome/welcome back to the blog! Ah, it feels like forever since we last spoke about the ever so lovely, Light Grey. That may be because it has been nearly a year. However, a few things have changed with Light Grey since the release of the likes of Bitter. Light Grey is now a duo rather than a trio, the band took a step back for a few months, but they're back with their brand new single Disassociate. This track dropped TODAY! I'm so hyped about the fact they reached out to me and asked me to do some press for them a couple of weeks ago, and well, here we are! We're going to talk about Disassociate!  Now, Disassociate has a different feel to it in comparison to the more popular and classic Light Grey tracks. Disassociate opts for more of an electronic and Twenty One Pilots and Waterparks feel to it. This doesn't mean that the song is terrible though. I really love the feel of this track, and I think because it has that different sound to it, it has a really interestin
