Demon on the Run by Four Thousand Miles

After what feels like forever (when in reality it's only been 6 months), Four Thousand Miles are back! Because it's been so long, and I know over the past few months there's been a big increase in the traffic to this blog, and there are new readers, let me just give you a brief recap on who 4KM are!   Four Thousand Miles are an international rock band, and their name comes from the fact that between Alex M and Lionel there's 4000 miles!  The band consists of;  Alex F - Vocals and guitar Lionel - Guitar Alex M - Drums  Liam - Bass They now have 3 tracks out, Lonely, Reflections and the brand new track Demon on the Run!  For anybody that cares, Four Thousand Miles are my joint-favourite small band and I would probably sell a few organs for them, also will eventually get a tattoo for them when little miss rona decides to leave us all alone.  Anyway, let's get into the thoughts on the new song!  I was super hyped for this song to drop, and I just knew they wouldn'

hurting you is inevitable by Lewis Kelly

So a few weeks ago I spoke about Lewis Kelly's first single Unemployed, and now I'm here to talk to you about his new track hurting you is inevitable. This track dropped on Friday, and I'm so excited to be talking about it!  I want to start off by saying a massive well done to Lewis for making this track because it's incredible, and he's super talented and he deserves lots of good things. Lewis has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever known, and this track really does prove that.  This track has very similar vibes to Unemployed, and I loved that track, I still listen to that song nearly every day. I honestly love this song so much, it's just such a lovely, pleasant song to listen to. It's so calming and just a lovely listening experience.  I can see myself reaching for this song a lot, I really like the vibes it give off, and it's just such a nice song to listen to. I feel like I still prefer Unemployed, but that doesn't mean I don't

Low, but Looking Up by Better Anyway

It's out, it is finally out. Low, but Looking Up by Better Anyway was released on Friday, and since I've done reviews on Afterthought, I Can't Say This To Your Face and the wonderful Bury Me, I thought why the hell not bring you a review on the EP! So here we are.  Low, but Looking Up is 6 track EP, which as I said in yesterday's post I'm really enjoying longer EP's. I'm actually pretty excited about this EP, the singles were great, and Bury Me was my favourite out of the 3 singles, so I've got pretty high hopes for this release.  The EP opens with Stay Away, I really love the vibe of this track, and it gives me Knuckle Puck vibes, I think it's a really nice opening track, and it's quite a strong opener. It definitely packs a punch, and the sound is superb. The drums really are the stand out bit for me, and they're incredible. Very intense, but not to the extent where the vocals are drowned out. It fits with the vibe of the track and the br

Vice Versa by Give Me A Reason

Hello! Welcome back to another instalment of Grace rambles about bands.  Yesterday Give Me A Reason dropped their new EP Vice Versa, and having heard 3 singles off the EP I knew I was going to love it. Didn't expect to love it as much as I do though!  The EP is 6 tracks long, which I'm really liking these longer than average EP's currently.  The first track on the EP is Sad, which was the first single released off the EP, and I really do love it. This was actually the first Give Me A Reason track I heard and it's incredible. It's super catchy and I feel like it's a really good opening track. It's one of my favoruite songs of the year, and I just love it. It's got a decent amount of energy in the track and I really do rate it. So, I'm glad the EP opens with a strong track. We then move onto Color, which wasn't a single. From the intro I didn't know what to expect, but it built up within 15 seconds so you did kind of know what was coming, and I

The Ghost Of My Empty Glass by Distant Blue

THE LADS ARE BACK! Yup, Distant Blue have returned and have decided to bless our ears with an absolute tune and a half! I feel very lucky to be able to bring you my thoughts on the track ahead of its release TOMORROW! I'm telling you when this drops tomorrow YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO IT!  Before we get started, I just want to let you know, that the lads have told me they've been in the studio and there's a whole new mantra of music coming, there are various tracks in the making! And to be honest, that's pretty exciting especially if The Ghost of My Empty Glass is anything to go off of! I am 100% here for it!  So the first 10 seconds or so, I was kinda liking it, didn't really know where it was going, but I was here for it, and then Ed decided he was going to kill me with his vocals, and that was it, I knew this was going to be one hell of a tune!  Straight off, I love that there's change and depth within the sound which everyone knows at this point is essential fo

idk why i try by Misplaced

So, I have never featured Misplaced on the blog before. I've mentioned them in a few What I'm Listening To... posts, but I've never done a feature on them. I loved their last release fuck that, i'm alright. So, I thought why not bring you my thoughts on their new track idk why i try.  If you happen to be unfamiliar with who Misplaced are, they're a Scottish pop-punk band and they're absolutely insane, but I seem to say that about most Scottish musicians! Anyway, they're insanely good and I'd highly recommend going and checking them out! They deserve so much more love and support than they get!  Having heard fuck that, i'm alright I had pretty high hopes for idk why i try, and I can safely say they didn't disappoint. They exceeded every expectation I had, and I think they're well and truly becoming one of my favourite smaller bands. This song is helping that, and I don't get why Misplaced aren't a massive band with the bangers they r

Bury Me by Better Anyway

So it just seems to be the norm now for Better Anyway to release a song and for me to cry about it on the blog. So here we are again! Better Anyway have just released their third single from their upcoming EP which drops NEXT WEEK! THIS IS NOT A DRILL, BETTER ANYWAY ARE DROPPING A NEW EP ON THE 23rd!  So, I loved the last two singles, Afterthought is still played A LOT in my car, and I can't recommend it enough! I absolutely adore it! I really enjoyed I Can't Say This To Your Face, so I knew this was going to be a solid track, and the snippets they'd posted of the track had me super excited! And let me say, they didn't disappoint. Better Anyway know how to make a tune and this is proof of that (if you didn't have enough proof already).  I love the vibes of this track, and it's a really engaging song to listen to. Like, you want to listen to it because it keeps you entertained. I love how intense the sound is as well, it's got plenty of change and depth with

Goodbye by OnlyChrisAng

Wow, hello, welcome back to another instalment of Grace rambles about music! It feels like forever since I posted, and it feels like it's been YEARS since I've spoken about OnlyChrisAng, but here we are. Chris released a new single today called Goodbye, and the lovely guy that he is, asked me if I'd be up for reviewing it, and I thought sure. Why the hell not. So here we are!  I had no idea what to expect when I first listened to this song, I didn't know if I was going to like it, love it or hate it. I had no idea if it was my sort of thing, but my little brain was so blown away by this track. For me, this is that standout track from Chris. I cannot recommend it enough. I absolutely love it!  It's of course, very similar in sound to Chris' other tracks, but it's so enjoyable to listen to. I love that there's change and depth within the sound, I like the lyrics to the track, and I love that the lyrics have meaning. That's one of my favourite things ab

Blue by Give Me A Reason

So, Give Me A Reason are back with another single from their new EP which drops in 2 weeks! So I thought, why not bring you my thoughts on it like I did with Funny. So here we are!  I really didn't think that Give Me A Reason could beat Sad but then they released Funny and then I thought they couldn't beat Funny, and now they've released Blue!  Blue might be my favourite Give Me A Reason song to date! I cannot even put it into words just how much I love this track.  After about 30 seconds of listening to it I knew I was well and truly in love with this track, but then it hit the chorus and that was it! My brain had exited my skull, and I had turned into the human form of the mind-blown emoji!  The chorus is just so intense and insane! I can't get enough of it!  I love the rhythm of this song, and it's so catchy! Give Me A Reason really know how to make catchy songs that you want to listen to so many times.  Mattia's vocals on this track are beautiful and I lov

Unemployed by Lewis Kelly

So, this is a little bit different to a lot of the bands you see featured on here. We mainly see pop-punk and rock, metal and everything alt really, however, today I'm bringing you a low-fi pop track called Unemployed by the incredibly talented Lewis Kelly!  Lewis had actually sent me a DM on Instagram, and it may have taken me a little while to actually open the DM, as soon as I heard the track, I knew I had to bring you a post about it! Thankfully, Lewis was completely up for that, and now here we are!  So, Unemployed came out about 6 weeks ago, and straight off, let me just tell you how incredible Lewis' voice is! Lewis has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard in a long time! Such a soothing voice, and listening to this track really does feel like drinking a warm cup of tea on a rainy day. Lewis has such a warm, relaxing voice that it's hard to note love it!  What may actually surprise some people because I'm a bit of an alt kid, I really love this track

Flowers In May by Stay Free

So, Stay Free are back with a new track called Flowers In May, and I've spoken about Stay Free quite a few times now, and I really do love this band so I was pretty excited to hear that they were releasing a new song. So, I thought why not bring you my thoughts on the track! So here we are!  From the intro to Flowers In May I didn't know if I was going to like it or not, but I have found with Just Want You (their single prior to this one) that the intro wasn't my favourite but it did pick up fairly quickly. And, from the snippets, the band had posted on socials I was quite impressed with the song, so it was just that the intro wasn't necessarily my favourite thing ever. But, I wasn't willing to let that deter me, Stay Free are a solid band so I knew if I just trusted them then they'd impress me! We got 10 seconds in and faith was restored, I knew they wouldn't disappoint!  The chorus on this track is incredible, and that is the real winner. I'd be worr

Look Alive by After Elmer

So After Elmer is a pop-punk band from Rotterdam. They released their debut EP 'Look Alive' a few weeks ago on September 18th!  They followed me on Instagram and sent me a link to their music, and well, now we're here.  I'm here to tell you my thoughts on the EP and if I'd recommend it (I 100% would) and what I really think about it.  It's a 4 track EP, which is standard, and from the first track, I was in love! So, let's get straight into this!  The first track is the title track Look Alive. The intro to this song definitely engages you, anybody that's a regular around here knows that I love for a song to be really engaging, I like change in a song, I don't want to be the same thing for 3 and a half minutes! This song is incredibly engaging for the get-go, I love that so much! I love the pace of this song, and the beat is incredible! The vocals are perfection, and I just overall really love this song. It's so upbeat and enjoyable! I can see myse

Week Seventeen: What I'm Listening To...

It feels like forever since I sat and wrote one of these, when in reality it hasn't actually been that long. Anyway, you know the drill at this point. I'm just here to tell you what music I'm listening to, so let's get into this!  Bands I'm Loving;  - Machine Gun Kelly - The Amity Affliction - The Mocking Jays - Light Grey - Nautical Mile - Autumn Fires - Good Hustles - We Were Sharks - Downcast - Home Wrecked - Distant Blue - The Mocking Jays - After Elmer Albums I'm Loving;  - The Only Way Is Through by Nautical Mile - Let The Ocean Take Me by The Amity Affliction - This Could Be Heartbreak by The Amity Affliction - Tickets To My Downfall by Machine Gun Kelly - The Love Era by The Mocking Jays - Lost Touch by We Were Sharks - Home Wrecked by Home Wrecked - MYMINDISOUTOFME by Distant Blue - Look Alive by After Elmer Songs I'm Loving;  - Bitter by Light Grey - Smile by Good Hustles - I Can't Be (Without Your Love) by The Mocking Jays - Bones by Autumn F

Bones by Autumn Fires

I am so excited to be bringing you my review of Bones early. Tomorrow, Autumn Fires drop their new single Bones, and you aren't ready for it! I was very kindly asked if I wanted to review this song early, and you all seem to enjoy when I do that, and it does excite me a lot when I get to bring you my opinions ahead of release. So, let's get into this!  Bones is Autumn Fires' fourth single, and with each release, they get better and better, and this song proves that. This is honestly, their best song to date, I know I thought very highly of Waking Up In Vegas but that has nothing on Bones. This song is honestly a tune and a half! Absolutely love it! I loved it from the first time I heard it, and now having heard it quite a few times I still love it! I think it's incredible.  The talent Autumn Fires have is insane, and the sound of this song makes me so excited. It's so loud and in your face, it's without a doubt an anthem. Charlotte's voice is incredible, but
