If you follow me on Twitter, then you may know that I love Distant Blue, I think they're great. I don't know if it's because they're pop-punk and I'm a sucker for pop-punk, or if it's because they're a local band. But either way, I love them a lot.
On Friday, Distant Blue dropped a new song. Yes, it was a big day for music, but as soon as it turned midnight, the first song I went to listen to was Whirlpool, because I was really hyped for it. This is probably down to the fact that Amber Leaf has been in my most listened to tracks for two months now I think... and when I say it's been in there, I mean it's been right up in the top 5. So, of course, I was super hyped for Whirlpool and it didn't disappoint.
I want to listen to Whirlpool all day every day on repeat. Like, what is this beauty? Whirlpool is a masterpiece. My tiny little, not so little, baby piggle even reacted to it... I can't tell if she loved it or got scared, but she didn't try and jump away from it, so I'm taking that as a good sign.
Whirlpool is very much a traditional pop-punk song. I don't just mean like lyrically, or the song is generic pop-punk. Every aspect of it is pop-punk and it's amazing. If you haven't heard it already? What are you doing with your life? Go listen to it!
It's a solid 5/5 lemons.
