Band Review: Stop The Rain

Stop The Rain

Name: Stop The Rain
Stop The Rain are a Scottish alternative rock band. The Scottish five-piece consists of Blair Davie, Sam Flood, Sam Steele, Ben Muir and Kyle Fummey.
The only way I can describe their sound is if Twin Atlantic and Fatherson had a 'love child', and if you threw in a tiny bit of Deaf Havana you'd have Stop The Rain. Although the members are 16/17, do not let this put you off, because I was blown away by how talented they are. When you listen to them (because you really should) you will be shocked, the sound is incredibly professional, and it's very clear to hear that they put a lot of effort into their music.
A strong mix of guitar and drums, whilst the vocals power through and the Scottish accent is present (which is another reason why I love them so much).
They currently have two songs you can listen to Skylight (which is one of my favourite songs currently) and Home Is Where My Heart Is (all the links will be at the end of the post).
I cannot stress enough how much you should go and listen to them because they are phenomenal. So do not sleep on it, go and listen to them!
When it comes to lemon rating, they get a 5 out of 5 lemons... if the lemon rating allowed more lemons, they'd get more.

Wishful Thinking by Near Mrs

Welcome back to another blog post! Today I'm going to be talking about Near Mrs' latest track Wishful Thinking which only dropped today (11th February). Although this song has only just dropped, I was kindly sent the track a few weeks back by the lads in Near Mrs and as always, I'm bringing you my thoughts on it!  Now, I can tell you this track is incredible, I thought that the first time I heard it, and I still think that now. This track absolute slaps, and that chorus is extraordinary! The vocals, the lyrics, the guitar, the drums, the bass, everything about this track is a massive yes! I'm a firm believer that Near Mrs are one of the best local bands, and this track is proof of that, as if the past 4 singles haven't been enough proof. Honestly, such an incredible band and this song is just something else!  The riffs, the intro, the outro, the change within the sound, those bits that make your brain go "oh shit, they really did that". When I say you all

Rock & Roll Is My Religion by Dirty Rose

Welcome back to the blog, and today I'm featuring a new band to the blog! This band is Dirty Rose. Now, they reached out to me at the end of last year and asked me if I'd be interested in doing some content on their new album when it dropped, and I mean, this is me. When do I ever turn bands down? Anyway, so after me trying to get my brain to write this earlier than I have, we're finally here!  The album is titled Rock & Roll is My Religion, and it dropped on the 21st of January, and Dirty Rose are on a mission to properly bring back rock and roll! So if you too, are a believer that we need to resurrect rock and roll, and bring it back then Dirty Rose could be the band for you!  I really didn't know what to expect when I first heard Dirty Rose. I thought when they were saying rock and roll, it was going to be a lot less rock orientated than it is. However. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard Dirty Rose, and hearing their cover of The Rock Show by blink-182 was

Drown by Cherry Bleach

Welcome back to the blog, and as you may be able to tell, I am welcoming another new band to the blog! Today's band is Cherry Bleach! Fun fact, just before they reached out to me and asked if I wanted to work with them, I was actually contemplating dropping them a message to see if they wanted to work with me. Anyway, they reached out and asked if I wanted to work with them and do a post on their new single Drown, and of course, this is me so I said yes!  Now, Cherry Bleach are a 4 piece psychedelic grunge band from Aberdeen, Scotland. They consist of;  Alisha Wilkie -Vocals and Rhythm Guitar Ewan Watson - Bass Thomas Reid - Lead Guitar George Hudson - Drums So, on Friday 29th of January, Cherry Bleach released their latest track, Drown! Now, not to generalise but songs with drown in the title tend to be pretty solid.  So, this track is a lot softer than I expected, I was expecting this to be a lot more aggressive and in your face, but it's actually a lot softer, and quite po
